Again about movies

I took "strange movies" folder with me to India with such a movies as Requiem for a Dream , Mulholland Dr., Syriana, etc. Blow would be that kind of movie, fitting in my folder just perfectly! BUT that kind of movies are even less popuar than i LT, it's not acording to indian movie magic formula" 5 dances, good guy, bad guy, nice girl, 0 story". Some ppl were leaving cinema when Simpsons, The good german was showing:) But on the other hand - I couldnt stand "the boss"...i left in the middle of the movie.

The Holly Weekend or visiting South India' temples

Finnally we did it! We visited Kancheepuram. It was the third try. Like Lithiuanian proverb says: trecias kartas nemeluoja. It's a place ~ 2 hours away by bus from Chennai. Bunch of trainees early sat morning we left to see Kancheepuram and maybe, maybe somewhere else:) that "somewhere else" turned to be Thirunnaavamalai.

Kancheepuram has five very nice temples, we managet to see all of them, enjoy pure South Indian food, be blessed by elephant... Elephant is a huuuuuuuuuge animal, but very very cute, especially I loved playing with them in Sri Lanka. this time I didnt have that scared face expression, like the first time blessing in Pondicherry:)

But the real adventure started on Sat evening- we decided to take the last bus to Thirunnaavamalai... Lonely Planet even doesn't give a map for that place... ther were 3 hotels mentioned... and non of them picked up the phone when we tried to reach them to ask about availability... and despite of all this we went there-3-4 Hrs shaking in/jumping the bus and at around midnight we are in the dusty field what ppl call- bus station:)

Hot shower, soft towel and nice bed- very simple things which can make you very relaxed and happy!

Sunday was continuation of the holly weekend- we visited very nice temple where duering the full moon comes ~ 0.5 mln ppl! I cant imagine where do they fit, but Indians like crowded places:)

There is another atraction in Thiruvannaamalai- the hill ( honestly can remember the name...)..well, let's call it "the hill"... so, around midday we decided to enjoy the view from the top...who said that people can learn from their misstakes? it was almost the same situation as in Morocco when I and my sister decided to enjoy the view from the top. The view was nice, even this time we havnt reached the top. Stoped at the point where still enjoying climbing:)

Diwali

Diwali - magic word, which makes all India go crazy! when I say crazy, i really mean CRAZY!
On friday we had a duble party- Diwali and my roommate's Basimah' bye bye. We had really fun time and almost all trainees came together.

Yesterday, at 6 am I was feeling that I live in a war zone, where some big shooting going on, 6AM!!!

Later in the evening all fireworks came to the sky! That was beautiful. We were on our rooftop looking around 360 degrees around was nice fireworks and it kept going and going... endless!

When finally we got ready to go out at ~ 7 pm... we didnt really succeed. Went downstairs saw that everybody is burning fireworks everywhere on the roads, no matter if bikes or cars passing by.. well- the war feeling came back:) all going out was finished in 5 min we came home:) Anyways, we had fun on our rooftop with other ppl watching and shooting fireworks!

Gambling weekend

Gambling weekend...to be more precise -movies about gambling weekend:) First of all Casino Royale. James Bond was charming and saved the world- as usually. Then we rushed in another movie- Lucky You, if you havnt see in, congratulations, you havnt wasted two hours of your life. This movie was all about Poker with lousy love and father-son stories in the background. Since it was the last Benny' night in India, we had pretty much sleepless night with fun, talks and lot's of pictures (to make sure that no details of the puzzle are missing) and after breakfast at 6 am by flatmate Filip and sunrise ( ok, actually we didnt see it, but still nice and early morning) we went to sleep...it was more than obviously that we are not going to Kanchepuram to see the temple at 8 am...LOL:)

Sunday I had probably the latest breakfast in my life- at 6 pm;) but amazing Astrid's pancackes good start of the day:)

You should've seen how suprised I was when Shyna ( my dear ex flatmate from Canada) called me and offered to "talk to somebody"... and that somebody turned to be my sister! UNBELIEVEBLE- the world is so small!
Viktorija was representing LT in GA in Canada and amazig how many my friends and ppl I know she met duering that week!

This week Diwali is coming and all Chennai is just going crazy about it! and Im enjoying this crazyness:)

Hot-Cold

Chennai is not flooded anymore, sun is shyning and the weather is good:) Temperature is very plesant- now it's +27C....and you know what.. I keep noticing people wearing winter caps now!!!

This kind of weather back home would be a dream for summer holiday, here is COLD:)
